Demonstrating Cultural Humility Through Child-Centered Approaches

The purpose of this Pre-Session is to address how counselors demonstrate cultural humility through child-centered approaches. This requires all of us to continuously adapt and change our ways of relating to children, their parents, and their teachers.

Learning Objectives:

1. Define cultural humility
2. Describe how cultural humility can be demonstrated through child-centered approaches
3. Describe specific ways they can adapt what they are doing to become more culturally humble
4. Describe how to advocate for their child clients through working with the adults in their lives
